Setting up shipping rates manually on Shopify can be a real pain—especially when you’re dealing with multiple zones, weights, and carrier surcharges. It's not just time-consuming; it can also cost you money from undercharging customers or just from the carriers' hidden fees like Remote Area Surcharge.
That’s where UrShipper comes in—we take the hassle off your plate. With UrShipper, you can display real-time, accurate shipping rates automatically—right at checkout. No manual setup, no spreadsheets, no guesswork.

How Does It Work?
UrShipper calculates shipping rates in real time using:
Origin address (your default “Ship From” address in UrShipper)
Destination address (entered by your customer at checkout)
Product weight (based on your Shopify product listing data)
Packaging dimensions (your default packaging set in UrShipper)
Once these details are matched, the available shipping services and estimated prices will show up at checkout automatically.
What’s Required for It to Work?
To use live rates at checkout, you must be on Shopify Advanced or Plus plan. If you're currently on the Shopify plan, then you can opt for the monthly fee to add this feature or switch to yearly billing↗. Live rates at checkout isn't available for Basic or Starter plans.
Can I Show Both My Carrier Rates and UrShipper’s?
Yes! UrShipper supports both:
UrShipper rates (your UrShipper’s membership tier discounts will reflect too!)
Own carrier account rates (if you’ve connected your own FedEx/UPS/DHL account)
Even better, you can use UrShipper’s rates blending feature: which will compare all the rates first on the background, then only show the cheapest one to your customers—so you won’t confused them with too many options.
You can do the rates blending easily from your UrShipper dashboard: My Account > Stores > Live Rates at Checkout

If Rates Don’t Show Up…
If no rates appear during checkout, try checking:
That your Shopify plan supports carrier-calculated shipping.
